A workshop simulator allows you to forecast how your line will respond in terms of throughtputs and lead times, from the current resources you have and the articles you need to produce.

You will identify the ideal batch sizes and works in process quantity to launch as a minimum for your more important machines to be efficient.

It will indicate you the forecast overall equipment effectiveness for each resource, as well as the workcenters where you have to increase the load to increase the throughtputs.
